Education Programme

According to the Socio-Economic and Caste Census of 2011, there are 24.49 crore households in India, of which 17.97 crore reside in villages. Of those residing in rural areas, 10.74 crores are considered deprived - 5.37 crore (29.97%) households in rural areas are "landless, deriving a major part of their income from manual labor." In 2006, Jan Sahas launched the Land and Property Rights Program in the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh state to support marginalized communities in raising concerns against illegal land encroachment. Due to the prevalence and critical nature of the issue, the campaign was soon replicated in other districts and extended to other states. Currently, the Land and Property Rights (LPR) program is active in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.
